Baby Island Saratoga Club, "BISC"
90 Years of friendship
In 1927 a group of friends from the Baby Island Saratoga area joined together to improve conditions on Whidbey Island. (Saratoga Road was a dirt road then.) They named their club "The Saratoga-Baby Island Firesiders". After many years of productive work the club was renamed "The Baby Island Saratoga Improvement Club" and was incorporated on April 18, 1952.
In 1953 a smaller version of the present clubhouse was built on Saratoga Road with funds and labor supplied by its members.
Renamed in 1982 as the "Baby Island Saratoga Club", the members still enjoy the camaraderie of friends and neighbors sharing good times, delicious food and listening to informative speakers or performances by entertaining artists.
The Baby Island Saratoga Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose goal remains:
Building community
Maintaining a public assembly hall
Encouraging excellence in education by providing scholarships to South Whidbey High School graduates who enter a college or trade school
When you rent our hall you are helping a South Whidbey student go to college or trade school.
